Qld: Beattie to discuss early poll option with cabinet

Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE will meet with cabinet today .. to discuss the possibility
of an early state election.

Mr BEATTIE is considering his options after warning the failing health of Bundaberg
MP NITA CUNNINGHAM .. who's suffering from cancer .. could be the trigger for an early
poll.

Mr BEATTIE says he'll give the matter serious thought over the next few days .. so
he can decide what's best for Bundaberg .. and what's best for Queensland.



A by-election in Bundaberg is one option .. but it's a seat the government is likely
to lose .. because Bundaberg is the focus of the Dr Death hospital scandal.
