Fed: One road death recorded on New Year s Day

The death of a woman in Northern New South Wales today has taken Australia's national
holiday road toll to 52.

An ambulance spokeswoman says the woman, 48, died and five other people were injured
after their car crashed through a barbed wire fence and rolled at Woodenbong, north of
Lismore at 2.30am.

A police spokeswoman says the woman had been in the backseat of the car when the vehicle
left the road.
